I’m Julian C. Gay, a Functional Health & Performance Specialist, athlete, and lifelong advocate for natural, holistic living. My approach to health was shaped not by trends, but through years of personal experience, movement, and intentional training.
I’ve been involved in sports since childhood, competing through my youth and high school years and continuing into adulthood through recreational leagues and competitive athletics. Today, I’m an avid tennis player, USTA competitor, and Spartan Racer, and I continue to train actively as part of my daily life. Movement has always been central to who I am and continues to inform how I understand resilience, performance, and longevity.
With over 9 years of experience in functional fitness, forged through intense training at Unorthodox Fitness in Brighton, Michigan, I’ve learned to view training as more than exercise — it’s a tool to support durability, energy, and real-world function.
My journey led me beyond fitness alone, revealing how deeply health, nutrition, and movement are connected. I believe vitality is built intentionally, through consistency, awareness, and respect for the body’s natural design. I live these principles daily and bring them into everything I do.
At Holistic Vitality, the approach is rooted in the belief that lasting vitality is built through a holistic, functional, and individualized understanding of health. Rather than applying one-size-fits-all solutions, the focus is on recognizing how each person’s body functions, adapts, and responds through their unique physiology, history, and goals. Health, nutrition, and fitness are viewed as complementary tools that work together to support long-term well-being, applied thoughtfully to individual needs and circumstances.
This work is grounded in the understanding that the body is designed to function, adapt, and heal when supported with the right inputs, intentional movement, and informed care. When appropriate, existing health conditions or clinical diagnoses are taken into account and addressed by identifying root contributors, supporting the body’s healing capacity, and improving outcomes through functional nutrition and lifestyle principles. Rather than leading with labels, symptoms, or quick fixes, the focus remains on understanding how each individual body functions and applying practical, sustainable strategies that support long-term health, performance, and quality of life.
Education and guidance form the foundation of this approach, paired with personalized support that meets individuals where they are. Whether someone engages through health-focused guidance, nutrition support, or fitness-based coaching, the goal is to provide clear information, thoughtful direction, and functional solutions that translate into sustainable, meaningful improvements.
The aim is not perfection, but progress. Holistic Vitality exists to help individuals take ownership of their health, strengthen resilience, and build vitality that lasts.
